Sometimes, you will not know whether you can achieve an outcome. For example, an olympian preparing for an event may not be able to guarantee that they will win a gold. It may happen or someone else would have put in more power or love or devotion or practice or knowledge or have better infrastructure or a more powerful reason to get it.
Another example, could be a boss committing to a side-project for another department. It is not necessary that his own department will have the time to work on it.
When the outcome is unpredictable, commit to something in your control.
An example:
1. For an Olympian: Will put in 1560 hours of pure practice each year.
2. Will complete 80,000 affirmations for an outcome (with good emotions).
3. Will work 10 hours on this. Even if you are not able to complete it, for example if the project scope shifted, you have fulfilled your commitment and that will build your self-esteem and self-worth, increasing the probability of your achieving the outer result.
In this way, make commitments you can keep. It will build self-esteem and improve the probability of your doing better in the next cycle of effort.
To kya commitment karoge?
