Scoping Down

Because work has become so expansive, for example, a video created on Youtube could be of infinite length. An analysis done on an excel sheet can be infinite. A feature added to software can be infinite. Trying to learn a new subject can give too much information.

When we do such kind of work, it can quickly expand unmanageably. One technique I have been using recently is scoping down. It is derived from design thinking. Before you begin work, take some time to scope it down.

Base it on priority, feasibility, and what would be useful for the end user.

About Saurabh J. Madan

What is my life's purpose? Why am I here. This work is my answer to me. It is work that connects me to joy. It reminds me of the privilege of living with purpose. It energises me, challenges me, exhausts me, motivates me, demands my very life from me so it can give me back even more. This work is my dream. I am here to help other dreamers realize their dreams here on earth.
