How to Celebrate life

'Celebration' is our connection to life:

Life is not just about finishing one piece of work and then doing the next one. In between, we have to look back and see how far we have come. I call that acknowledgment a celebration. The external form it takes is not so important. It may be a minute of meditation, it may be a cup of tea, or it may be a trip to Bali. Sooner or later, you will achieve all the things you want to achieve, but when you look back you will see that life was happening in the journey. It is important to enjoy the journey.

Joy makes the journey sustainable. That is what prepares the horse for the long run. It becomes the fuel for future accomplishments.

GUIDELINES
  1. Celebrate now. Avoid deferring the reward, because the association is lost then.
  2. The reward should be appropriate for the goal - A chocolate reward is not good for people trying to lose weight. They can reward themselves with time.
  3. Find a reward that is suitable for you. - some people like compliments, some people do not like compliments. Anything you like is suitable for you.
  4. For small tasks, it is best if the reward is free or inexpensive. People having a busy family or work lives find that a 10-minute break to watch tv or read a book really lifts up their day.
  5. A celebration should be out of the ordinary. If you watch 10 videos a day, then watching another one is not a celebration. If you shop for clothes daily, then this is not a celebration for you.
